Pilot schools

Queensland pilot schools

State, independent and Catholic schools in Queensland will join their interstate counterparts in moving to NAPLAN Online in 2018.

The ongoing involvement of the Queensland NAPLAN Online pilot schools has provided valuable insights to improve the platform for all students throughout Australia. Their work is acknowledged and greatly appreciated at the state and national levels.

In 2016, these pilot schools gained first access to national online assessment, along with supporting resources and activities. Their feedback and experiences helped improve the national system. Read the August 2016 Queensland trial findings (PDF, 585KB).

Parents, caregivers and other members of school communities are invited to use ACARA’s public demonstration of the online assessment platform.

Pilot schools nominated their participation to trial NAPLAN Online. They carefully considered their school community support, staff and student readiness and technical readiness.

Our Queensland pilot schools demonstrated leadership and will provide a clear pathway for other Queensland schools.

A number of pilot state schools have offered to share their learning journeys (DET login required) that can be accessed via the staff NAPLAN Online network including resources and strategies they used. Their journeys may help inform similar schools of lessons learnt and how they transitioned successfully to online assessment.
