Test window

Currently, paper-based NAPLAN tests are held during a three-day period.

ACARA will extend the test window for NAPLAN Online to nine days.

Schools will have up to nine days to complete the four tests. Some small schools may finish the testing in a few days and some larger schools may take the full nine days to complete all testing.

Schools will need to schedule the tests in a particular order.

  1. Writing tests are completed in the first two days.
  2. Reading
  3. Conventions of Language
  4. Numeracy

Read ACARA's advice on managing the change.

See scheduling tools for options to assist schools to schedule the four tests in the correct sequence.
